Support for young people in Burkina Faso
FANGA e.V. is an association of volunteer working members who have set themselves the goal of helping disadvantaged children and youths in Burkina Faso (West Africa) to obtain education and vocational training.
Burkina Faso is one of the poorest countries in the world, where 46.7% of the population lives below the poverty line. In particular, education suffers from the country's poverty because many children are not enrolled in school for financial reasons. Despite the fact that education is compulsory, children do not usually finish school. Illiteracy rate in the country is 64%! Enrollment costs money, which many families cannot afford. In addition, in Burkina Faso, people pursuing training in professions must pay craftsman dues, meaning again that their future depends on the prosperity of their families. FANGA e.V. wants to help these young people to complete their training - academically, as well as technically.
